I have always wanted to do a series of photos that combine both my passions: occupational therapy and photography.
"In its simplest terms, occupational therapists help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations)" (AOTA). "Occupational therapy addresses...performance in a variety of contexts and environments to support engagements in occupations that affect physical and mental health, well-being and quality of life" (American Occupational Therapy Association Practice Act, 2007).
Hands represent how people engage and interact with the world. In this series, I gather a variety individuals participating in activities that are essential to the quality life.
